debug mode not working with obfuscated jar

Controlling Font Size in Choice Group

Ok, this is driving me crazy! I have a form with two choice groups on it. The first is defined as EXCLUSIVE and has static choice items added to it. I created a font resource called fontSmall and set each element to the fontSmall. In the code, the IDE added the following:

The next choicegroup is built dynamically from data read through a web service. The choicegroup is defined as a popup. After enumerating my data and calling append for the choice group, I added the following code to set the font for the newly appended choice item:

When the page displays and you select the volunteer choice group to display the popup, the elements are not in small font size. The other choice group shows the static choice elements in the expected small font.

What is going on here? Can you not control the size of the font on popup choice groups? Also, how do you change the font on the choice group label itself? I cannot find a method of the choice group to do this.

Is there a way to set a master font for the entire application that all displayables will inherit?

Problem adding LWUIT to 6.7

Hi,

I'm trying to add LWUIT to my Java ME project.
I have read all the available doc's.
Before I involve my large project, I want to try LWUIT in a small project.
1. I downloaded the LWUIT code - OK
2. I create a new Project and add the LWUIT.jar into the Resource part of the project - OK
3. I copied a small example code as SRC and here the problem started.
NetBeans complains on two things:

Custom Displayables Gone

I've got a mobile application developed in NB, and i've created some displayables of my own by subclassing Canvas. IN order to add them to the flow of the application i had to add them to the palette manager. All was fine untill today when i wanted to add one of my customs to the project and didn't find them in the custom category of the palette manager. Actually i couldn't find anything in that category.
I've tried to add them again but NB won't see my classes anymore when i try that.
Any ideas why this is happening?

Rococo Impronto simulator

Hi all.

I've currently involved in a J2ME-Bluetooth project, and I've seen that almost every book regarding them uses Impronto simulator for development.

I've already downloaded and installed this simulator, but can't manage to simulate any project I build with Netbeans. I follow the steps Rococo gives at it's user guide (adding a new 'friendlyname' to the JAD file, and including one new line at midlet's constructor, and I include all the jar files in the lib folder of the simulator to my project, but when I compile the project again, always find the same error:

Error preverifying class X
Class loading error: wrong name

"X" changes between different letters, according to which jar files I add to the project, but this is the error that always appears.

Has anyone manage to have Impronto running, and simulate his/her Netbeans projects there?

(I'm using Windows XP SP3, Netbeans 6.7.1, JDK 1.6.0_16 and Impronto 1.3)

PS: I've already tried asking Rococo's support, but they don't even reply emails.

Realize default value/sequential number with Java reporting tool

Background
Default value is commonly used in the data input interface of Web report. With it, some fields of newly added record can be generated automatically. Sometimes it is for the convenience of users. Sometimes, it is used when users arenât allowed to input these fields.

Sequential number is a particular case of default value. It has a steady increment or decrement, while complex default values donât have this rule.

Difficulty
For a Web report without dynamic addition and deletion, it may be not very difficult to realize default value/sequential number in input interface.

However, for a Web report with dynamic addition or deletion, it will be very difficult, especially for sequential number.

One of the most important characteristics of sequential number is that it is non-repetitive. But under B/S mode, in the condition of concurrent access, users' browsers don't need to interact with server for addition or deletion of row. Otherwise, the interaction cost is too must huge. Therefore, it is very difficult to keep sequential number non-repetitive in every browser in B/S mode.

Solution
For usersâ convenience, RAQ Report (http://www.raqsoft.com/) provides thoughtful function of default value/sequential number. With RAQ Report, client-side browser can dynamically compute the starting value of sequential number by expression, and realize perfect sequential number function through flexible rules of steady increment or decrement.

Through its SMI Program (http://innovator.samsungmobile.com), Samsung seems to be launching a Java App Store in India â as part of the Samsung Fun Club (http://in.samsungmobile.com/).
This might probably be the first time Samsung phone users in India will be able to download Java apps at the same place they go for their wallpaper, ring-tones and other mobile content â Usually though Samsung phones support Java, its users never got to download Java apps through them.

This was apparently announced to the core members of SMI in a recent meeting (http://www.telecomtiger.com/fullstory.aspx?storyid=7711&passfrom=vasstory§ion=S182) that happened recently.

Through a core member that attended this meeting, I heard that they are looking for
â¢ J2ME-based application
â¢ Small file size for easy download over the GPRS network
â¢ Free , with no cost to the consumer (trial/lite versions seem acceptable)
â¢ Content relevant to an Indian audience

I guess it is not restricted to core members alone. Anyone who has an application that fits in with the criteria above should be able to submit. Looks like they will close the submissions by 04-December, since they plan to work closely with every developer and even test all apps.

I guess NO. Samsung Application Store distributes Symbian and Windows Mobile content, No Java ME at all there! This SFC thing should be for J2ME apps!

Probably the Indian teams are doing it as a trial launch.

â¢ Why not paid applications?
No answer to this â but they seem OK with Trial / Lite versions. So we can always redirect the user to our site and make them buy

With NetBeans 6.7, I had this same issue, until I restarted the IDE. Then, even though I still saw the "A platform target has to be selected." message when selecting my android-sdk-mac top level directory as my platform folder, I was able to see all of my downloaded android platforms in the "Name,Description,API version" table that I could then select from. Need Help with installation

Hi, I'm new to NetBeans and want to use it for Mobile development. There are several great tutorials on the website, starting with IDE 6.01, My problem is that when I try to install any version of Netbeans, 6.01, 6.5, 6.71, I am unable to get the mobility packages to work. In particular, I am unable to get any platform other than the Java SE to show up in the Tools/Java Platform location. What is even more frustrating, is that depending on the NetBeans version I am unable to add any platforms to the IDE.

Particularly for 6.7.1, selecting the Add Platform button sends me directly to the directory browser without even letting me select the type of platform. In another version, I can select the type of platform, but when I navigate to the platform folder location, the NEXT button is never enabled. Basically, I can't get anywhere with any version of the package.

I am installing on a clean XP virtual machine that is dedicated to this project. Please help, I'd really like to give NetBeans a shot.

There is no longer a separate mobility pack to add on to the NetBeans installation. You can verify that you have the Java ME tools installed by opening the IDE and going to Tools - Plugins on the main menu. Look at the Installed tab and there should be 2 Java ME plugins installed. If there are not installed, just go to the Available tab in the Plugins dialog box and select and install the Java ME plugings. The install wizard will guide you through that process once it begins. :)

Unsupported tag in element parameter

Hello everyone,

I had a question related to your post. I'm using NetBeans 6.7.1 and JSR-172 for generating the web service client from the valid WSDL. What I want to achieve is the following:

Send from the mobile an array of objetcs, to be stored in a DB in the back end. For example, I need to send an array of objects type Report (my class) and then the WS should be able to receive them.

I have created a service operation in the back-end which receives an Object as parameter (with the intention to receive and array of my objects, since an array is essentially an object, right?). When I go to my mobile project and try to generate the WS Client, I get an error from the IDE saying "Unsupported tag in element parameter" to indicate that it can't generate the stubs from my valid WSDL.

I think I'm a little lost on how to send arrays (vectors are not possible right?) over the WS. When on the WS wizard I choose "Objetc" type as parameter, the WS is created succesfully, but the J2ME side can't get the WSDL

Any ideas on what is going on?? Or how to get my things done??
