Network remote controlled streaming -- I offer $50 for a solution

Hi,

I offer US$ 50 (by Paypal) to someone who can provide me with a solution
to the following by tomorrow. Unfortunately I don't have much time. I
guess it shouldn't be a big problem to one of the developers.

I need the Hauppauge MediaMVP to play an MPEG2 stream (coming from VLC
on the same LAN) without any user interaction (using IR remote).
The stream should be started preferably by providing the VLC IP and Port
to the MediaMVP by HTTP or Telnet.

I would accept detailed instructions on how to do that with e.g. mvpmc
nightly, or a custom dongle (binaries + source). So if the current mvpmc
doesn't have that feature yet, maybe you could add a simple command line
option or a HTTP URL to do so.

Would be great if you could help me.

Martin

PS: Sorry if you got this e-mail twice. I wasn't sure the mail sever
would accept it from my other address.

Playing an http stream video via an m3u is easy easy enough, and I put
in some code that show how to play streams via the http interface that
could be reused, so I'm sure adding some way to start an m3u from the
command line can done.  I'm not interested in doing it however.

Martin

If you still need it: Have a look at this thread
(http://www.shspvr.com/smf/index.php?topic=9368.0), especially at the last posting.
Unfortunately the original website is down, but in case you have PAL I still
have the dongle they are talking about. You can get it from here:
