Howdy, found this interesting concept on the net and I was wondering what you vets thought about its design.  Mainly I wanna know if an aerodynamic sail shaped balloon would actually work or not.

Just how light would the ship need to stay in order to enjoy such a design?  It says that peddal power is used but would the addition of electric motors and solar panels destroy its buoyancy?   What about food and water for the long trip?  Anyway, thought you guys might enjoy it, hope it hasnt been posted yet.

Have a look at:  www.airship.org

buoyancy will depend upon how much weight you add.   More weight = need for greater volume of lifting gas (bigger airship), in most cases.
