Hi all,

I'm trying out the latest Ubuntu (9.10), so I thought I'd record a
little something...I present the old hymn, Take My Hand, Precious
Lord.

Actual File:

I've been working on getting a better Hammond sound out of my Roland
RD-700SX, so this patch is the result.  Not much drawbar variation
going on here (I need to get some MIDI'd up to my RD).  Warning - the
playing is a little self-serving and a bit sloppy in places, so be
warned.  :)

All gospel, all Hammond (kinda), all Linux.  It's a good life, isn't it?  :)

You know, I just woke up and I sat here thinking what could be the most
slowest possible song on my computer. My brain couldn't stand anything
fast at this moment. Sadly, I figured that anything I had, would have
been too fast to play at this moment of haze. So, checking my mail, I
found your song and with the description of old hymn, I gave it a try. I
must say that this song was perfect for the occasion, together with a
coke and a good fat self rolled cigarette.

This is a keeper.

Now that I'm more awake, playing the Battle Hymn of the Republic would
also sound good on this setup.

Thank you.

Hi Josh,

Wow, I like this one a lot. Reminds me of the times we'd drive into
Chicago on a Sunday morning, listening to the shop-front church gospel
shows. All it needs now is the congregation testifying and the preacher
opening the service at the end of the music. "Let us all rise and lift
our hearts and voices in song with the choir now..."

Very cool, thanks for sharing.

Indeed it is, despite the tyranny of evil men. :)

Best,

Hello Josh!
This is very good organ work. It sounds natural. Both the sound and the
playing emit the feeling of someone, who knows his organ and has a
relationship with it. :-) I shold try to get my Roland up to that sound level
and even then I doubt I could get that kind of playing done... Pity. :-(
Thanks for this joyful little tune!
   Friendly regards
          Julien

Yeah, brother, that's beautiful, takin' it to church...

Very nice Hammond work. It's all about that swell pedal, ain't it? :-)

Loved it. You're on a roll with another fabulous track.
