New Troopmaster web program

Troopmaster just released a beta version of their new web based program!  It looks like you will be able to sync this web program with your copy of troopmaster and set up passwords for members of your troop to see the data on a web site.  You can sign up to beta test it from their products page.  There is also a demo of it on that page.

After you fill in the request form, do they have to send you a password?

Do they email the new User ID right away, or only during their business
hours?  I am guessing the later is the first did not occur.

I signed up yesterday and no email.  Guess they don't work weekends...

The demo looks promising but it's definitly bare bones.  Hopefully, the finsihed product will have more functionality.

And you can have updating being done at the same time by multiple users, and there is a chance if you have a smart phone with Web capability you might be able to do updates without the traveler version also, which benefits people with Blackberry phones possibly waiting, on that question to be answered about that.

After you fill in the request form, do they have to send you a password?

Troopmaster just released a beta version of their new web based program! It looks like you will be able to sync this web program with your copy of troopmaster and set up passwords for members of your troop to see the data on a web site. You can sign up to beta test it from their products page. There is also a demo of it on that page.

The ability to update with an iPhone would take our Troop's record keeping
to a whole new level!  I sincerely hope that those of us who have already
paid to use Dot Net will not have to pay another fee to use the web program
when it's completed.

If they are allowing multiple people concurrent access and allow updates
via the web...  We will have made progress in the right direction.

. and, it will be "Parent" and Scout accessible!  . and, possibly therefore,
55% of the ASM's and SM will now lose the "software" excuse, for not using
TM, and having to give the CM a stack of printed excel sheets for attendance

BTW,  we are not going to have to pay more for web version, are we? LOL.  We
will have to not act so enthusiastic over it.

Do you really expect TSI to just give away the fruits of their labor for free?   I will happily pay for a web-based option to allow my parents to be enabled to see their Scout's information.

The question I have, will we be able to give the Parents access to *just* their Scout's information, instead of giving them "read-only" access to the entire Troop?

This would be sort of like posting a classroom's whole grade report...

Be careful what you ask for... if you want FREE, then don't come
back and complain it doesn't ring every bell and whistle every tune!

No, I don't expect them to give away the fruits of the labor.  However, I
see this as more of a program update to DotNet.  I don't see the need for
any one unit to use both DotNet and a web-based option.  As they offer a
three year license for DotNet, it would leave many units unwilling to pay
for the same type of functionality (ie: many users being able to use the
program) until their DotNet license expires.  I realize there are people
here who will pay anything TSI asks.  However, I think there are at least as
many of us here who started to feel nickle and dimed when TSI took away the
satellite function from Troopmaster and expected us to fork over more money
for DotNet.
