Hello,
Today, we've uploaded the new XMeeting project webpage, together with
the first preview release of XMeeting.app.
New XMeeting webpage:
During the last months, we have been working on a general redesign of
the XMeeting project webpage hosted on sourceforge.net. For users
regularly visiting this webpage, the new "look and feel" may be
strange at a first glance. However, we think that the new design
better suits the targeted non tech-savy audience which wants to use
the XMeeting applications as easy-to-use, compatible and useful video
conferencing applications.
XMeeting preview release:
As announced a couple of days ago, we've finally released the first
preview version of XMeeting.app. The application is still in alpha
stage, as you'll probably see if you download it... However, we
highly encourage interested people to test this application with
their H.323 equipment and report us their experience. The sooner we
fix bugs, the better!
The preview release ships with the following features:
- Usage of the OPAL library (OpenH323 project)
- H.261 video support, uses the QuickTime codec.
- Change of audio input/output devices while in a call
- Improved bandwidth usage. Bandwidth limits now affect the bandwidth
transmitted/received, not just the usage of certain codecs
- New and more flexible GUI
There will be many features appearing in the application throughout
the next weeks. We plan to do preview releases in regular time
intervals and an "official" 0.1 release in near future.
With Best Regards
Hannes Friederich
