New on an A520, RE: Still problems with canon a510 and 2.4.7Hello:
I believe I am having the same or similar problem with a Canon A520 as stated in this previous post on 9/11/2009. "PTP: Sequence number mismatch 56 vs expected 58." This occurs when I use: "gphoto2 --capture-image" or "gphoto2 --capture-image-and-download" more than one time. Like the original post, I am writing a script which will continuously capture images. In my case I want to do this about every 5 minutes to display on a website. I'm planning to eventually create daily time lapse videos from the pictures. We are a bunch of soaring pilots and want a good look at what is happening with the weather at our glider port along with other weather data before we commit to the drive out to fly. Anyway, after the first (or second on rare occasions) successful capture, gphoto2 generates a long stream of "Sequence number mismatch....." errors with the next capture attempt, then "freezes" and I have to ctrl-C to get back to the shell prompt. I can only successfully again capture images if I cycle the power on the camera. Otherwise, I can set and get parameters successfully. I am using gphoto2.4.7 and libgphoto2.4.7 which I downloaded from SourceForge. The Linux OS on my computer is Ubuntu 9.04 with the latest updates. A log file from an unsuccessful run can be found at: http://adamsfive.com/aasf/gphoto2.4.7_log.txt >From reading the previous posts on this issue, it appears a patch might have been created. I am certainly willing to attempt to try it. Thanks for any help on this problem, Aland ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Come build with us! I am certainly willing to attempt to try it. I have built a test libgphoto2 which should handle those sequence errors, can you test? http://www.lst.de/~mm/libgphoto2-2.4.7.3.tar.bz2 Ciao, Marcus ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Let Crystal Reports handle the reporting - Free Crystal Reports 2008 30-Day trial.
