New pitchtracker branch please?

I don't actually know who's in charge of the rosegarden SVN repository, so
I'll ask on the list, hope you don't mind :)

For some time now, there's been a pitch-tracker branch which was kindly set up
to help out with the microtonal work which was going on here at Glasgow. We
stopped software development ?2 years ago and got on with using the software.

Now we're needing to do a bit more work, and I think the best thing to do
would be to terminate the existing Glasgow branch and, if it's OK with you
guys, start a new one. If we submit a load of patches against the old one
(which is based on v1.2.4 if memory serves) then it'll just be very confusing
for everybody.

My group has a big presentation to The Open University coming up, so there
wouldn't be much to show for the effort of starting a new branch until after
that, but then we'll be on the case as a priority. Ben Hillman is off recording
an album now (with his band, "Over the Wall"), and he'll be back at the end of
the month. Before that, Graham Percival and I will have a go at things. I
think there are a few changes I'd like to commit based on Ben's work so far.
Graham's thought about the problem for about five minutes now, so I fully
expect him to delete all the stuff I put in and rewrite it much more elegantly
:)

What's the policy on commits? Do you want them all sent to people for
inspection, or shall we do our own (to the Glasgow branch, of course)?

Nick/.

The policy has been as follows.

Discuss before committing to trunk. It is also good policy to discuss (as you
do now) when starting a new branch. In branch you may basically work
independently. Then you may call people for testing the branch, especially,
before an anticipated merge to trunk. It is also good practice to merge
time to time from the trunk to the branch.

This was very general, however, I am not familiar with the Glasgow pitch tracker.
