Hello everyone. Just read Mary Lou's account of the boat show. She's
right, we have been remiss in joining the forum and meeting them put
the match under our butt to get at it! To refreshen your memory Mary
Lou, we are Danielle Desrosiers and Phil Gauthier from Montreal. As
you mentioned we bought Raven from Peter Thorn a year ago and gave
her a new home in Montreal. Everyone has been quite impressed with
the amenities found in her and as a tribute to the Sandford's,
Kaynor's, and Peter everyone is very impressed with her great shape
and can't believe she's 20 years old. We managed to get out about a
dozen times this summer and enjoyed every bit of it. I've attached a
picture taken at her launch showing quite well. The main focus for
our trip to the boat show was to upgrade her instruments (not that
there was anything wrong with the present ones) so we will upgrade
her to an NMEA2000 platform with a Lowrance HDS7 and the Garmin GWS10
bundle for wind info. As well we have decided to give her a 12v
fridge to keep the "refreshments" cold without the need for ice
packs. Those should be installed over the winter. Weather is changing
up here so we will likely pull her from the water in a couple weeks.
So never fear, Raven is well and fine in her new home and again
thanks to all who have helped keep her in such fine form.

Phillip,
Welcome!  Thanks for the post of Raven.  I still keep in touch with the Kaynor's (they are "retired" now and live and cruise aboard their Tayana 37, Rachael).  I'm copying them on this reply.   They just got back from Maine and are headed back south. - rob

I neglected to say that the Kaynor's are the reason we have a Rhodes.   Went with them for a sail and fell in love with the boat.  Only wish we could have bought Raven when they sold her.  Could quite afford her at the time.  And now that I'm thinking of upgrading to IMF and furling jib, no boats to be found!  Am planning a visit to see what Stan has though. - rob
