New way to open a file in a directory

Hi ;

First off I like the Kate editor, used a lot of different ones.

I have opensuse 11.4 Kate version 4.6x, I am working on a project and I want to create a new file. 

I go to create a new file and it puts it into the wrong directory, why can't I just right click on the blue folder, on the left where I want it and say new.

Maybe an open could go on the blue directory folder also and it would pull up an open file dialog for that folder :) .  

It would sure save me time.
