Newbie question about Midi controllers

Hi!

I've just installed PWGL and like it very much, but I'm having trouble getting it to work with my Midi keyboard controller, which is connected through a USB port. I looked through the tutorials and examples, but the only example I could find was 'midi-membrane' in the tutorials. Does someone have a bare-bones example of a patch which reads Midi data (just key and velocity is fine), translates the data to pitch and amplitude, and sends it to a synth of some sort?

I went into Audio/MIDI setup and selected the appropriate options, I think (my keyboard was listed in the drop-down for 'midi in'), but I don't seem to be receiving any Midi data in PWGL.
