No module named _md5

I found a post on this group about this issue:

but it was not very helpful.

I am trying to set up a django dev environment on my macbook pro tiger. I am a newbie switcher, and I have been trying to get this working for over a week now.

I wrote up my setup for the system (so far), in the following blogpost:

The errors I get are as follows:
