Sorry if this is in the wrong place, and if it is an endless repeat of a similar theme - but I have managed to lock out my mother-in-law's laptop by attempting to load AVG security software when her Norton Securites licence expired.
The machine will reboot to the start-up menu (the list of named accounts in Windows XP) but it then hangs.
I am in no doubt that this is because I loaded the AVG (it was on the necessary Restart having loaded it that the problem first occurred).
Can anyone suggest how to get around this? (My mother-in-law does not have a start-up disc).
