Hi all,
My laptop crashed shortly after the meeting on Wednesday and I lost
the notes I'd written up so this is all from memory. Apologies for any
omissions, and please chime in where I've missed something.
The big news is that we're planning to release CCRB version 1.4 on
this coming Monday. This release adds official support for Git,
Bazaar, and Mercurial in addition to Subversion. We're also taking the
time go through the app and revise the documentation where needed.
After that we'll begin work on Release 2.0. Here are the planned
features, both for the app and the team:
* Rails 2.3 support. I have a fork on Github with a clean 2.3 upgrade
that I'll plan on merging in to the main repo after we release 1.4.
* A smaller memory footprint for project builders. Currently they
load a great deal of Rails into memory with them when launched.
* A revised user interface for the dashboard; consider merging
cc-board or a similar tool into the main app. The existing interface
leaves a lot to be desired.
* The ability to distribute builders across multiple machines;
investigate DeepTest, which uses rsync+drb to accomplish a similar
goal with test runs.
* A project build button on the main project display page.
* A request from a past contributor: a cleaner domain model. We'll
see about this one.
* Clearer rules around who can submit and how, and a dedicated build
server that's open to non-TW members of the core submitter team.
