I've been tried to configure the notification module and the infolog preferences to enable the email notifications when any change occurs in any of the users infolog entries. That configuration should send a email using the account configured in the emailAdmin app to the user, but not send that email at all .
I have eGroupWare Version 1.6.001 installed in my server, and I have been configured an account in the emailAdmin app as I show you:
Global:
- marked the three 'Global options' checkboxes
- profile access rights: Any app, any group, any user
- default mail domain: my_domain
SMTP:
- Standard SMTP server
- domain of my SMTP server: my_mailserver_domain
- SMTP port: 25
- Checked: Use STMP auth (I try with this option unchecked too but nothing)
- Send using this eMail-Address: mail_username@my_mailserver_domain
I also configured the IMAP tab with options similars to the SMTP tab, but works fine.
If a commit any mistake in my config or I was missing something, can tell me what can it be?
It is a pity that this notification module not works me, is a great functionality.
I'm sorry for the lenght of this post, but I think that this data will help you to help me :)

Hi! I finally make the notification module works!!! Searching in the setup of the egroupware app, in the 'Check Installation Stage' the log show me a warning that say something like:
" Checking extension imap is loaded or loadable: False
The imap extension is needed from: EMailAdmin, felamimail, tracker"
and a command to install it.
The log also shows something like that but with the module Auth_SASL(and a command for install it).
I run both commands and the 'Check Installation' not show more errors.
(I'm sorry for my vagueness with the installation )
I follow this lead to the Amin->Asynchronous Services option, where I made a TestJob for every minute to send an email to my account. When I checked the mailserver logs I found an entry that shows an authentication from de user that I configured in the emailAdmin module(Voila!) but the email sending fails because this user tried to set in the MAIL FROM header the mail account of my normal user in the egroupware site.
At least I could check that the emailAdmin module was working fine.
Then I made a test: I put a few tasks and then I modified it. I waited for a couple of minutes and: I RECEIVED AN EMAIL WITH THE SO WAITED NOTIFICATIONS!!!!
Thank to the post before mentioned, I have been able to check the smtp connection to my mailserver and I starting to search others clues.

I'm trying to make it works... but i'm stuck in the cron configuration i think..
At the moment, i can send mails from felamimail, but when i created an alarm ... nothing.
I couldn't check the mailserver logs, becuase i can't contact the mailserver admin yet. but tomorrow i'll know about it.
I don't understand what do you mean with "Then I made a test: I put a few tasks and then I modified it. I waited for a couple of minutes" and if the crontab it is correctly installed.
This is the message from Asynchronous Services
Crontab instalado: */1 0-23 19 10 0-6 /usr/bin/php5 -qC /var/www/egroupware/phpgwapi/cron/asyncservices.php default
Well, i would thank yo for your collaboration! .
ps. Sorry about my english... i'm from argentina.
Thanks!

Hi Fedeus!
Don't worry about your english, i'm from Cuba .
So far, I could not install the crontab (I really do not need yet), just did a "TestJob" to test asynchronous notifications.
I'm not using the application felamimail, so unfortunately I can not help you with your configuration, but if you probe the notifications using the calendar (following the theory that if works for this app , it works for the others).
The checking of the mail server logs is important, because you will show whether the egroupware can connect to mailserver, which was one of the problems I had (not connected to the server).
When I wrote: "Then I made a test: I put a few tasks and then I modified it. I waited for a couple of minutes" I meant that I put a few "todo" in the INFOLOG and some appointments on the calendar and wait for the notifications.
Excuse if I was not very helpful, any new data you have, post it to see if with that I can help you.

Greetings,
Diosney.
Well. at last i could make it works .. my problem was that the mail server requires a smtp authentication. I've solved it with help from mailserver admin who make me a rule that not require authentication to the mails from the groupware server.
Thanks for your help! in some way your afirmation "I found an entry that shows an authentication from de user that I configured in the emailAdmin module(Voila!) but the email sending fails because this user tried to set in the MAIL FROM header the mail account of my normal user in the egroupware site. " give me some light about the issue!!
Muchas Gracias!!
Saludos de Argentina hacia Cuba!
PD. Tengo otras dudas acerca de la implementacion de E-GroupWare, si no es mucha molestia ¿podria consultarte en privado?
