OSStatus error 1409

[Susan Alston]

I am running Leopard 10.5.7 and when I drag a DVD to QuickTime player
version (7.6.2) 518  I get an OSStatus error -1409.  I have downloaded
QuickTIme 7.6.2 again from Apple and installed it again.  Does anyone know
what could be wrong?  Should I uninstall it first and if so how do you do
that?  Is it ok to drop it in the trash?

So far as I know DVDs never play under QTP. They work fine with DVD  
Player or VLC or many other players, but not QTP.

QTP appears to be working as it should be.

Quicktime is not a DVD player. Use either the DVD player provided or VLC.
