Exact same CPU/OS configuration. With 1.8.8, ./configure --disable-
xlib was enough (either directly, or just by chance) to NOT have the
FreeType backend built. The same in 1.9.4 now turns on the FreeType
back end. And then it won't link. All kinds of unresolved _FT_blah
symbols. Adding --disable-ft fixes the problem. Was this an intended
change in the build scripts?
