About the organization:
MicroCred is an investment company in microfinance, created in July 2005 by
Planet Finance, established in Paris. MicroCreds mission is to provide
financial services and savings products to entrepreneurs unserved or
underserved by the traditional financial sector by building a group of leading
microfinance banks and finance companies in at least 15 countries by 2015.
Tasks/objectives:

Objectives
Evaluate current products (including balloon repayment product) and make
recommendations to improve them and develop new products including a rural
finance product and others (i.e. individual loans with group guarantee like in
MC Mexico) depending on results from market survey,
Branch/outlet management: Assess current branch/outlet management structure
and provide recommendations to improve efficiency and reporting between
branches and HQ and with external parties including shareholders and MC SA.
Activities
I. Product development
(1) Current products modification
a) Evaluate current loan products including balloon repayment product
b) Conduct a market survey to gather client feedback about current loan products
and to gather information about loan products offered by the competition
c) Provide detailed recommendations for current loan products in light of
information from survey to make MC Nanchongs current products more attractive
to both current and unserved clients
d) Assess the current product pricing using Activity Based Costing
e) Recommend relevant changes in pricing to improve profitability and make
products more competitive vis-à-vis competitors
(2) New product development
a) Develop proposals for new products based on the results of the market survey
b) Conduct rural finance demand survey
c) Prepare action plans for the possible pilot testing of the identified new
products
II. Branch/outlet management
a) Meet with Branch/outlet management and staff to gather information about the
organization and management of the branches/outlets
b) Prepare a report of findings noting
c) Whats working well
d) Key successes
e) Major shortcomings
f) Make a SWOT analysis of each branch/outlet for loan operations, staff
management and risk control measures
g) Provide recommendations to address / mitigate identified weaknesses and risks
in SWOT
h) Assess need for Regional Manager and if determined necessary provide a
position description and duties and responsibilities as well as recommendations
for coordination with branch/outlet managers and COO
i) Provide detailed recommendations in a report to management about future
branch/outlet organization and management to ensure maximum efficiency and risk
control as operations are enlarged (e.g. as more branches and outlets are
opened during 2009 and 2010)
j) Review internal reporting tools and improve the reporting mechanisms to
external parties including shareholders and MC SA
Skills
At least 10 years experience in microfinance, including management positions
and strong involvement in operations and product development, preferably in
China,
Analytical skills,
Autonomy and initiative,
Ability to develop innovative solutions,
Demonstrated high professional and ethical standards,
Fluent in English is required ; fluent in Chinese would be a strong asset.
Education
University degree in management/finance/development
Ideally experience in the same position abroad.
