I tried to run OpenEV2 on Ubuntu 9.10. Following steps seemed to work:
$ sudo aptitude install libgtkglext1-dev libgdal1-dev python-gdal
gdal-bin python-gobject-dev python-gtk2-dev
$ svn co
https://openev.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/openev/trunk openev
$ cd openev
$ sudo python setup.py install
$ openev2
BTW. On what distro you are running the OpenEV?
