OpenSSL 1.0.0 Stable snaps

I recently tried to compile openssl 1.0.0-beta2 with apache to enable support for ECC crypto.  It compiled fine, though I ran into errors later on...  I then decided to compile the most recent snapshot of 1.0.0 stable.  To my surprise, none of the ECC ciphers showed up in the ciphers -v list, which I thought was the default for all versions after 0.99.

Is support being dropped?
