Opinions - Salvage Title

In the tradition of this less than stellar year - my R6 was once again
knocked down on the streets of DC. Pennsylvania Avenue.  In front of the
Mexican Embassy.
According to the security chief the camera does not show anything other than
one minute bike is standing and the next it is down.  Apparently critical
security cameras only work well in daylight.

2006 R6 - damage estimate $3300.00

*Regressive Insurance *says their salvage bid is $2800.00
Bike is valued at $5880

They are offering me 5880 or 2800.00 with salvage title.

Any recommendations

Thanks

That sucks about the bike. As for the insurance? Gut reaction - take the
$5880 and start shopping for a replacement...

[Dave] I have to tentatively agree w/ Perry, that's my 1st thought as well.
Would you lose any money in Farkles, mods, upgrades, aftermarket stuff, etc?
How's the damage, purely cosmetic, or did it get run over too?

Really though, the question should be what are you looking to do bike wise?
Are you happy with the current mount, or thinking/lusting for another?  If
the former, then you dance with the one who brung ya, so to speak.  Else...
Look for another.

HTH

2800 for an 06 r6...

it would depend on how damaged it REALLY is..   and how much you
really have to spend
to get it back to decent condition?

If you have goodies on it, and don't want to keep it, i'd say take the
goodies off and
sell them separately.

2800 is kind of high for an insurance buy back, but on the other hand,
it depends on the
condition, it still might be worth more than what you're paying to buy it back.

SO ...  how bad is the damage?

and what state is your bike registered in?   I hear DC doesn't have
salvage titles, so
that would be good.

Similar situation here.

My BMW R1100S bucked me off her high-side at Summit Point in August.

Insurance estimate is $13,500.
Road-ready estimate is $5000.
Blue book is just over $8000.

I don't see a happy-ending here :o(
