Oprofile - applicaiton profiling

Hi All,

I am looking for “application profiling” tool in Linux(RHEL4). My Objective is find out
the memory usage (including memory used by sub-process and libraries) and Input/Output
access done by an application on various time stamps.
E.x. - Matlab,Ansys..etc.

Please let me, has Oprofile suits for this need

Oprofile is not for such situation.

For Input/Ouput access, you can simply try strace tool.
For memory leak check, you can have a try with mpatrol tool.
