Hi all,
I've been taking a look at Jakob Nielsen's latest post and he points out
that the "Office 2007 Ribbon" is quite cool, and is being widely used.
I thought something similar could be used for the "Options Panel".
I don't use Office 2007 myself, so I'm not quite sure what the "Office
2007 Ribbon" does exactly, but I can imagine it from the images.
In NetBeans' Option Panel there're different ways a user can choose an
option.
1.- First the user chooses an image on the top.
2.- Then the user chooses a tab from the tab-set
3.- Finally the user chooses an item from the combo-box
That's three different ways to select an option!!
Couldn't we make it more uniform? I don't know if the Office 2007 Ribbon
is good for this (I imagine it is), but we could make it uniform by
selecting just a single way to choose from options.
I'm attaching a (dumb) screenshot with just plain images to select any
option (image quality is not that good, sorry).
Opinions?
Cheers,
Antonio
