A BAR-TAILED GODWIT, first found on the 31st by Neil Gilbert at upper Upper Newport Bay, was seen at least through 11/7. The bird frequented, at low tide, the area around the outlet of San Diego Creek below the Jamboree Street crossing. If you have more recent sightings (either negative or positive), please alert the RBA. Carbon Canyon Regional Park: GOLDEN-CROWNED KINGLETS near shelter #10. (11/8) Irvine Regional Park: BROWN CREEPER 11/10 on north side of park near fenced-in horseshoe rings. Bolsa Chica Preserve: 2 REDDISH EGRETS and 1 LARGE BILLED SAVANNAH SPARROW on the 9th. PLUMBEOUS VIREO: Santiago Park Nature Reserve (9th), Santiago Hills Park (8th), Upper Santa Ana River/bikepath between Glassell and Orange-Olive, GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GOOSE, PLUMBEOUS VIREO, HERMIT WARBLER. (8th) RED-NAPED SAPSUCKER: Santiago Park Nature Reserve (9th), Arroyo Elementary School (8th), TENNESSEE WARBLER: Greer Park (7th) CACKLING GOOSE and YELLOW WARBLER at Carr Park on the 7th. CLAY-COLORED SPARROW on the 4th and 5th below the dam at Laguna Niguel Regional Park.
