Due to not being at the race Saturday, my phone rang off the wall Sunday. I talked to Kevin Monday morning and we pumped the motor Monday afternoon. With 2.. 16 volt batteries the motor pumped about 366-367 with the temp. conversion factor. With 1... 16 volt battery it pumped at 363. With 1....12 volt battery it pumped at 351.5 ci. With the pump manufacturer on the phone we bumped the motor over 8-10 times just as if you were finding top dead center and the motor pumps 357.49 ci. We did this 4-5 times with myself, Jeff Spears, and Earl, Kevin, and S.D. present. This manufacturer builds these pumps for NHRA, IHRA, and a multitude of racing organizations and he says that the most accurate way to pump is not spinning the motor but bumping it until the o-ring quits moving even if it takes bumping it 8-10 times. I have done this on a few other motors and come out right on the money. Kevin and his engine builder say the motor is a 358 and I believe them. The motor is legal.....end of discussion and we will soon have a meeting to discuss training up everyone in the organization how to run this pump and we will also discuss our next race. We want to thank our sponsors and the tracks and all those who help. We also have never really in a public way thanked the girls (Devon, Brittney) for their hard work. We have some that have missed the last few races but want to make our thanks known for all the hard work by everyone. I was told that the last race car count was really down. 358 inches behind a 91 MM blow through on alcohol @ 3100 lbs can go faster than that 5.20 he ran. The small block turbo rides are just getting started. Get-er-done!
