Is there a documented procedure for upgrading an installation from an
older version of Oscar to a newer version?

eg. I would like to upgrade from version 8.04 to 9.04.

thanks

SHOULD be straightforward
update the war, simple enough
either use a precompiled version (from the website)
or build from CVS with the appropriate tag
you will need the CVS and look in the database updates folder to get
the database update scripts as OSCAR changes database structure almost
weekly
Finally if you want the latest version of encounter and you are not
currently you will need to run the java applet in the updates folder
to transform the database

I have done it myself several times in the past, and will probably
continue to do it when its a small incremental job but frankly for
production purposes if you are looking at dozens of update scripts and
having to have it up and running at 8AM I have paid a service company
to do it for me
