Out of memory error java heap space on Jetty

We are getting an out of memory error while trying to backup our very
large (39 G backup) mysql database.  We just moved to mysql and
artifactory 2.0.8 yesterday.  We know this backup works for small
databases.

Moving to tomcat is something we really don't want to do.  What is the
heap space solution for jetty?

Hi,

A couple of questions:
- What is the current max heap size your are using? (make sure the out of memory exception is about the heap size not perm gen)
- Are you backing up to a zip archive - if yes, try to turn zip archiving off since its memory and CPU intensive.
- What is the biggest artifact size you store in your repository?
If you used the install script to install Artifactory you can change the max heap size by editing the JAVA_OPTIONS var in /etc/artifactory/default.
Otherwise, you may change it directly in $ARTIFACTORY_HOME/bin/artifactory.sh

Hope that helps,

Yoav
