Three years ago, I stumbled into Real Estate as the vehicle to becoming financially independent. A book (Rich Dad Poor Dad) propelled me to act.

How? By reading "Rich Dad Poor Dad", and realizing the importance of financial literacy as the key to building a wealth foundation. I then proceeded to buy and sell (wholesale) or rent-to-own houses. Read "Think Rich, Pinoy" for my story. Along the way I learned what passive rental income feels like. It felt very very good. But it also presented challenges.

One key challenge is marketing. Selling. Ugghhh. Sales/marketing is not my forte.

Buying property on the one hand. Selling property on the other. Wholesaling. Some say flipping. When I flip a property, I earn cash. When I buy and do a rent-to-own, I generate cash flow. Cash and Cash Flow from my real estate investments. Neat.

Question: How do I generate cash and cash flow from real estate? Back to marketing/selling. Then it hit me.
Marketing today cannot ignore the internet. For example, I sold a townhouse simply by advertising in www.Bahay.ph. And my tenant/buyer was a Japanese married to a Filipina. And she contacted me because of my ad on the internet.

Wow! This internet experience hit me like a solid left hook. I began to snoop around.

And quietly as I talked to people and "Googled" the internet, an issue emerged:

Real Estate Investing vs. Internet Marketing (which has more potential)?

This hit home when I saw a Think Rich Pinoy Franchisee "abandon" real estate in favor of doing internet marketing full time. What gives? Are the two mutually exclusive?

I knew from my experience that real estate is a good way to generate cash and cash flow.

So here's my hypothesis. Properly combined real estate with the help of internet marketing can be a dynamite one-two punch knockout combination.

It's called Real Estate Day Trading. Here's how to do it.

1. Continue to learn how to invest in Real Estate and do deals consistently.
This will be your core business.

2. Learn how to market on the internet to build a list of customers. Customers who are interested in either selling you their property, buying a property, investing as private lenders or equity partners in real estate.

Step 1 - Requires that you continue to learn the business of real estate, go to seminars (ex. Think Rich Pinoy Wealth Seminar), and then apply what you learn out in the real world. I was part of the massive Philippine layoff of Jan 15 - around 1000 employees of 2 large US companies lost their jobs in a single day. There was even talk of a local outsourcing company who simply shutdown unannounced. There was crying in the city at that time --good thing I had internet income running 2 months before --so I really wasn't worried like the rest who had to contend with a new larger job market looking for scarce jobs. 1000 people may be small compared to the US - but this is the first time this has happened to the Philippines!

Greetings to all of you!

My name is JHIEMEL PACAO, 14 years old and a second year student in Second Philippine International School (SPIS) - Riyadh.

Last December 2008, I stopped my schooling due to health problem. I have been suffering pain in my leg, stomach ache, and on-and-off fever. My parents had brought me to different hospitals and clinics and I was given various medications and treatment but nothing changed. On December 15,2008, I was diagnosed to have a pancreas problem and was advised to undergo a major operation. My parents decided to send me back to Philippines and I was admitted in Chinese Medical Hospital where they have ruled out that I have a LYMPHOMA CANCER. My operation was done on January 7 but I still have to undergo a series of chemotherapy.

As of this writing, there is still tube attached to my body and I'm waiting for my next chemotherapy which will cost my family more than a million pesos for the full treatment. These expenses are beyond our capacity as we are just an ordinary family who live from hand to mouth.

In this regard, I pray to GOD to touch the heart of every people who will read this message, so that they can help prolong my life. Any help you can provide, either financial or prayer will be highly appreciated.

I know that GOD knows all your good deeds and HE will return back all the blessings to those who extend their help.

Sa kasamaang palad, ako po ay dinapuan ng isang malubhang karamdaman na tinatawag na LYMPHOMA (NON HODGKIN LYMPHOMA, LARGE CELL, DIFFUSE). Isang uri ng CANCER na nangangailangan ng matinding gamutan (chemotherapy at radiation therapy). Sa kasalukuyan, ako po ay nakaconfine sa Chinese General Hospital mula pa po noong December 19, 2008.

Ang aking tatay na OFW ay isa lamang po baker sa isang establishment na maliit lang ang sweldo. Sa loob ng aking pamamalagi sa hospital upang ako ay obserbahan at operahan ay umabot na po mahigit 300,000 piso ang aming nagastos. Ako po ay kailangang ichemotherapy nang 8 beses na nagkakahalaga ng 125,000 piso kada session. Hindi na po namin alam kung saan kukuha ng mga susunod na pambayad sa chemotheraphy na dapat isagawa kada 3 linggo.

Kumakatok po ako sa inyong mga puso na sana ay maawa na tulungan ako sa financial na pangangailangan upang ako ay masagip sa kamatayan. Marami pa po akong pangarap na gustong abutin at handa po akong lumaban.

Remove Travel Ban to Aghanistan

Travel ban to Aghanistan is now a source of corruption in NAIA by the immigration officials. Not only for those travelling to Aghanistan but also to Iraq and presumably to Nigeria. An OFW has to give 300 too 500 dollars as grease money before we can have our passport stamped by these crooks, and sometimes an OFW is screwed even if he had paid already,just like the case of my co-worker wherein he had paid already, but still, these crooks hold his passport, delaying his flight to another day, and paying again some hard-earned green bucks. This travel ban doesn't make sense because the OFW influx to countries who can give them decent earnings cannot be prevented by this ban. Actually me as a worker in Afghanistan feels safer working here inside the US NATO bases than working in the Philippines. The area i work is secured with all the hi-tech weaponry and gadgets protecting the area. Even the private companies here has their own means of security. I have a decent job with decent salary to raise my family in which the Pi government cannot provide. Now, i cannot go back to my beloved country to be reunited with my family, fearing the risk that i may not be able to come back here again because of this ban....this immigration officials are unpredictable, they may give you hard time milking you, or they may hold you ultimately. Practically, this travel has no effect on the Filipinos with an empty stomach, resulting in the rise of the so many undocumented OFWs here in Afghanistan. So why not legalized it? At least to heed the call of the Filipinos, and the battle cry of the government to fight corruption in the society. This travel ban really sucks.....

Remove Travel Ban to Nigeria

The Philippine Government has imposed a Total Travel Ban of Filipinos to Nigeria.

OFWs in Nigeria have done enormous efforts through different channels (phone calls, emails, letters) in a request to review and to lift the said deployment ban. Even the Philippine Embassy in Nigeria thru Ambassador Masarunga Umpa issued a statement on November 7, 2007 that they have requested and recommended the government officials in Manila to remove the travel ban.

The reasons to the petition for the lifting of the said ban are enumerated below:

1. The incidences of kidnapping of expatriates are confined mainly to a small area in Nigeria known as the Delta Region and they happen at remote swampy areas, creeks and lagoons of the region’s two states, Rivers and Delta. However, these incidents are certainly not daily occurrences but rather isolated cases which government security agencies have categorised as criminal activities and are not reflective of the entire security situation of the country.

2. Multinational companies operating in the said region, in cooperation with government agencies, have very stringent and well-planned security and surveillance arrangements for all their expatriate and indigenous workers. Aside from such arrangements, these companies have updated contingency plans and evacuation procedures for said workers in the event of emergencies cropping up.

3. The Delta Region is far from Lagos and Abuja, the financial and political centers of the country. It is also far from other major urban centers like Ibadan, Benin, Abeokuta, Aba, in the south and Kano, Kaduna, Sokoto, Maiduguri, Ilorin, in the north. These places are homes to big communities of OFWs and their dependents - are peaceful and quite; daily life and business activities go on normally. True, there are social problems therein, but they are also the same problems that are in the Philippines and other countries, perhaps worse than what is in Nigeria.

4. The employment benefits of OFWs in Nigeria are far better and higher than those offered in the Philippines and in other countries. OFWs in Nigeria have made very positive impressions on their employers and are most likely to be re-hired. However, this current deployment ban will certainly affect such re-employment. Employers fully know that their Filipino workers can no longer return for employment because of this deployment ban. As a result, companies will source their skilled manpower requirements from other countries.

5. If we, OFWs in Nigeria who travel for home leave in the Philippines, are barred from returning to our employment, how can we meet our numerous financial commitments – monthly payments for mortgaged houses, children’s school fees, feeding for the family, water and electric bills, financial support for aged parents, etc?

Are there employment opportunities in the Philippines which can provide us far greater benefits than what we receive from our employers in Nigeria?

6. It is only the Philippine Government which has imposed travel restrictions on its citizens who seek for gainful employment in Nigeria. Other countries, whose citizens have been subject to much sever cases of abductions/kidnappings, issue travel advisories. This situation makes us a laughing stock among the expatriate communities in Nigeria.

We are constrained to address this petition to concerned authorities and through this medium with the sincere hope that their urgent and kind intervention will finally provide succour to our plight. We have written letters, sent numerous e-mails and made so many calls to our Embassy in Nigeria, the Department of Foreign Affairs, the Department of Labour and Employment and the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration regarding this issue, but sadly it remains unresolved.

We have contacted members of Congress for their assistance but it is even more sad that our appeals have fallen on deaf ears.
