Owl Mystery Solved

Hi, all!

 

Many thanks to all those who chimed in on this thread, but especially to John Arvin who solved the mystery: it was indeed our local mcallii race of the Eastern Screech Owl!  Since these vocalizations are so different from the nominate race, now some people are talking about a possible split??? :-D
