Hi Greg,

I appreciate your photograph Wing Walking through the loop.
We have these air shows in Cleveland Ohio.
Your shot reminds me of many years
of enjoyment at the show which is right on the
edge of Lake Erie.
Always a very hot, humid day with
people wearing caps and old favorite t-shirts.
All day seeing the show and
exhibits then a beautiful sunset.

The clouds here make a nice ground for the
subject which has been captured at a
wonderful moment.

Thanks for posting this to the gallery!

include:

Lea Murphy - white eggs, white bowl
[Chris] It is all a question of shades of grey. Nicely exposed!
                John Palcewski - Dream Girl
[Chris] I think her face is too big. So she must be a teenager about 18.
Greg Fraser - Wing Walking through the loop
[Chris] A very brave man did that, I never did fancy it although I did get
the opportunity once.

                Kostas Papakotas - Transubstantiation
[Chris] That's how it came out!
Michael Hughes - In Party dress
[Chris] I don't get that one sorry.
                Alan Zinn - Our Chrysler!
[Chris] They were always expensive.
                Don Feinberg -
[Chris] Yet another dramatic shot of falls.

Emily L. Ferguson - Dovecote cupola - Penmon Priory,
Anglesey
[Chris] It has no structure just heavenly light.

[Chris] Chris.

Mosty that....

You see. When decided to amke the event I started searching for a comcise them that
- was nothing i have never done before
- was not that ahead from the novices
- easy to understand for visitors
- convey a message. for me it was : "you can have digital and photoshop" but there are always older ways.

By coincidence those days some guys/students were asking for the double exposure technique they had heard of, and right here some members were mentioning it too, especially the Pentax K-10D ability too...
A plan was formed, the location was picked, a tesy walkabout was made, and I programmed a shoot...When I found the old men there I knew It was it.I had an anchor point for my theme/frame, and it worked beautifully (the contrast of older to newer ages - seeing people go by). There is also a hidden message..we are all passer bys in this land, in this life...we are but glimses of an eye (which is the greek titlte next to teh english one)

BTW the old men wert not posed. I was stealthy having the camera on a tripod and using a remote control release.
Funny thing is that wife of the man in the middle took her niece to the excibition...Saw her husband in the photo...Rushed home to tell him, and he came soon afterwards...we chated a bit and I promised prints...Last tuesday I went to Veria to make them and drop them to the coffee shop he frequents...Jolly good.

Maybe I was too resolute but this is only because of my poor English.
(In this sentence I had learned a new word.)
In my eyes it seem like a little mistake. especially the missing edge of
the bowl.
But those were only my thoughts.
I saw that you intend to try it the other way - ok, try it.
I think, this kind of subject need to be "stable" not dynamic.

I'm on the no-crop side here.  It looks just like what you said - a
technique to add some tension - rather than a logical outgrowth of,
for instance, an imbalance in the way the eggs are piled in the bowl,
or a gradient in the bg tonalities, or some other element which would
make the crop feel inevitable.

>                John Palcewski - Dream Girl

Her jeans crotch is too short.  She needs better pants.  Nothing much
else there that's really attracting my attention, so I conclude this
is a guy thing.

>                Greg Fraser - Wing Walking through the loop

I'm not certain what's going on here and the image isn't helping me.
Where's the loop and what is Wing Walking are questions that come to
mind.

>                Kostas Papakotas - Transubstantiation

Interesting that there's no attention to the kid from the men.  I'm
not sure what is being transubstantiated here, however.  An awful lot
of space around the subjects and I think I'd get rid of lots of it on
the Right side so there's a since of being transformed i.e. movement,
on the part of the bicyclist.  That might reinforce the
transubstantiation concept.

>                Michael Hughes - In Party dress

Must have been an interesting party?  Were you out with a bike club
for the day and going to a supper picnic?

>                Alan Zinn - Our Chrysler!

I like the balance between the wheel and the framed advertisment very
much.  I think I would have been tempted to soften the focus on the
whole thing to reinforce the never-never days atmosphere there.

>                Don Feinberg -

Good exposure time control.  Did you get a record of it?

>
>                Emily L. Ferguson - Dovecote cupola - Penmon Priory, Anglesey

I liked the contrast too, and knew it was inevitable unless I was
willing to get the flash to light the inside of the dome.  I wasn't
and it was amazing that anything was sharp.  A friend of mine who
grew up across the Menai strait from there pointed out that the doves
became food for the monks in the priory.  Hmm.  Sort of changed my
feelings about the place.

>There are 3 (Roberts, Dalrymple, Sull) photographs awaiting  installation.

Emily. thanks for the comments....

But this image happened to have the subject in center..there  are more images that have
the subjects at the side...In reality it was not possible to chamnge the camera view so i just relied in luck, subjects' whim and reflexes...Did you see the other ones at http://tinyurl.com/ngljcn'?

BTW Transubstantiation is a theme title from Paul Kantner's (of Jefferson Airplane) "Planet Earth R'n'R Ochestra" music album (Science Fiction Nebula awards nominne too). The story mentons of Telepathetic Teletransoprtation and I guess the title works for that kind of images too.
enjoy, Kostas
