	<title>Not sending emails to certain domains</title>

	<content type="html">Hi, I am using the phpmailer class to mass mail about 1000 customers of news events and so on in the company, but I have found that some of the mails do not go through. Domains like hotmail, gmail etc. all work fine. But created domains such as mine (cyberimage.co.za) does not allow mails to come through. When I click &amp;quot;send&amp;quot; on my website, it shows that all mails have successfully been sent, but when I check my inbox there is no message there. Do you know how i could fix this problem?

	<title>HTML rendered as plain text in certain clients -- 5.1 bug?</title>

&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;I recently upgraded from 2.3 to 5.1, and now some recipients of my cron job email script complain that the messages they recent are &amp;quot;gobbleygook&amp;quot;. Looking at the forwarded examples, the messages are basically the HTML email code that PHPMailer sent, but they are being rendered in their email clients as plain text (so they see all the tags). This doesn't happen to all recipients, it doesn't happen to me in testing (OS X Mail.app). I haven't yet investigated which email clients they're using.
&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;In any case, is this a common issue with 5.1? I haven't changed the code for composing/sending the emails in the script. I simply updated PHPMailer from 2.3 to 5.1 But is there something missing in the following code:

My community likes to have it so a reply goes to the original sender and reply-all goes to the whole list. The problem I&amp;#39;m facing is that for a reply-all, the original sender gets two emails -- one from the responder and another from the list server when the email is forwarded. Is there anyway to keep the original author in the &amp;quot;to&amp;quot; header but not actually send him an email from the list server?&lt;div&gt;

	<title>is phpmailer the right program for me?</title>

	<content type="html">after about 10 hours of beating my head against a wall working in php with imap I'm looking for alternatives to writing a lot of my own code.
&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;I need users of my forum to upload images from their cameras to an email address I supply.
&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;I need to:
&lt;br&gt;1) read the emails from the pop3 server
&lt;br&gt;2) read the X-Envelope-From field to get their email address
&lt;br&gt;3) save attachments to the emails and also save images embedded in the email themselves.
&lt;br&gt;4) and read the message body of 
&lt;br&gt;Content-Type: text/html
&lt;br&gt;Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii
&lt;br&gt;5) also read and decode the text in the body of Content-Type: multipart/mixed;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;nbsp;where there is text in the body but I have been unable to decode it properly in my own php/imap code yet.
&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;the optimal solution would be for me to be able to write php that would call phpmailer routines so that phpmailer did all the hard work of downloading the messages and simply returning me the attachment to the email, the senders email address and the 'text' from the body.
&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;My primarily problem at this point is that some cell phone user's emails that only contain text are coming through as Content-Type: multipart/mixed and a simple sting my 'myname' is being shown as a scrambled string.
&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;can phpmailer help me?

	<content type="html">OK folks I have solved the problem and here's what was going on in case others have it.
&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;It seems that many spam blacklists will list domains and even mail servers that send emails using a gmail address as the FROM address if it hasn't specifically come from the gmail server.
&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;We could get into a debate on whether this is a good thing or not, but let's avoid that.
&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;To avoid being added to a blacklist Dreamhost has blocked outgoing emails that have a gmail FROM address.
&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;We could also get into a debate on whether &lt;i&gt;this&lt;/i&gt;&amp;nbsp;is a good thing or not.
&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;But but having gone through the painful process of getting an IP number off a blacklist in the past I can understand their point of view.
&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;This is an annoyance as I was using it on a website where a closed group of people send in reports and I would add their email as the FROM so that it would be easy to reply. &amp;nbsp; Now the FROM is the organisations info@ address...sigh...

address in the message headers but actually send the email to a different address.&lt;br&gt;

I am trying to integrate PHPMailer with a Drupal module sometimes used
for mailing lists. It seems that when you receive an email from most
mailing lists, the &amp;quot;To&amp;quot; header lists the mailing list address (instead
of your own address). This is the effect I&amp;#39;d like to mimic. I could do
this by actually sending the mail to the mailing list address and
BCCing recipients, but I&amp;#39;d prefer not to because this would require the
mailing list to filter out messages that it sends to itself (not easy
in my case because a completely different module receives such messages
before they are eventually sent by mine). I know that this is
definitely allowed for in the SMTP protocol (headers have nothing to do
with the message envelope), I just don&amp;#39;t know if it can be managed with
PHPMailer. Thanks for any advice!&lt;br&gt;

&lt;br&gt;that the mails even though use of &amp;nbsp;SetFrom() &amp;nbsp;is done, the envelope-from 
&lt;br&gt;setting is still showing as envelope-from &amp;lt;nobody@host.******.***&amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;which causes the mail to be killed by various spam settings.
&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;What is required to set the &amp;quot;envelope-from&amp;quot; setting to an address I specify.

&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;I received a personal email from the creator of PHPMailer himself, Mr. Prevost, and it turned
&lt;br&gt;out that the host was the problem. The script works just perfect on a different server.

&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;I am using PHPMailer v5.0.2. Everything looks good and even attachments do work perfectly. The reason I am writing this, though is, that I seem to receive always 3 emails instead of one if I use this script. This happens in my custom code but also if I just use &amp;quot;test_mail_basic.php&amp;quot; from the examples folder. I always get three mails instead of one... Any ideas?

	<title>Limit attachments to just the recipient?</title>

First thing to consider is whether your PHP is CGI or API. Since you are&lt;br&gt;
using CGI style CRON commands, I am assuming you have PHP as an Apache&lt;br&gt;
module (API).&lt;br&gt;
&lt;br&gt;
Next thing to consider is whether or not PHPMailer is calling other&lt;br&gt;
scripts, and it is. That means your CGI style commands won&amp;#39;t work&lt;br&gt;
properly.&lt;br&gt;
&lt;br&gt;
So, the proper steps to follow to figure out how to make this work is to&lt;br&gt;
do a Google search and see if there are similar issues out there, not to&lt;br&gt;
blame the script. One such search led to this article (the very first one&lt;br&gt;

&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;First thing to consider is whether your PHP is CGI or API. Since you are
&lt;br&gt;using CGI style CRON commands, I am assuming you have PHP as an Apache
&lt;br&gt;module (API).
&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Next thing to consider is whether or not PHPMailer is calling other
&lt;br&gt;scripts, and it is. That means your CGI style commands won't work
&lt;br&gt;properly.
&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;So, the proper steps to follow to figure out how to make this work is to
&lt;br&gt;do a Google search and see if there are similar issues out there, not to
&lt;br&gt;blame the script. One such search led to this article (the very first one
&lt;br&gt;displayed):

	<content type="html">I use the SMTP function of PHP mailer and send HTML E-Mails with this configuration. When I try to submit contents that are longer than one line in the textarea, the mail isn't anymore. The Q-Mail Server says success, but I never get the Mail.
&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;This &amp;nbsp;part of the message gets its information from textareas. As long as the content of these textareas is not on two lines, it works. Otherwhise the mail isn't sent. But there are no errors. (the function e is just a function that returns the htmlentities() result with UTF-8)

&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;How do I &amp;nbsp;get PHPMailer-FE to display the success/failure messages on the same page without the page reloading?
&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;I'm guessing it requires some Ajax expertise but I'm a relative newbie so have been struggling to figure it out!
&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;I'd be really grateful if someone could give instructions on what I need to do as it's giving me sleepless nights!

&lt;br&gt;PHPMailer.
&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;PHPMailer Lite is a smaller footprint version of PHPMailer designed for
&lt;br&gt;forms-to-email, single email sending, and small mailing lists. It defaults
&lt;br&gt;to Sendmail (or Qmail) with fall back to PHP mail(). SMTP support is not
&lt;br&gt;included. Features include automation of author identity (automating
&lt;br&gt;Return-path, Reply-To), and fewer minimum requirements for sending
&lt;br&gt;scripts. DKIM support is included.
&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;PHPMailer includes the automation features mentioned above, several
&lt;br&gt;enhancements, and fixes. DKIM support is included.
&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;The author identity automation features mentioned above are to assist in
&lt;br&gt;getting emails into inboxes and not being identified as junk or spam mail
&lt;br&gt;because of missing headers. The most common missing header is the

&lt;br&gt;authentication specification. Other participants in the development of the
&lt;br&gt;DKIM specification include Sendmail, Qmail, and PGP Corp. DKIM is
&lt;br&gt;implemented by Yahoo, Google (Gmail), Ebay, AOL, Paypal, and the list is
&lt;br&gt;growing.
&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Along with DKIM support, we are also including a utility to create DKIM
&lt;br&gt;public and private keys, and to create the DNS resource record to add to
&lt;br&gt;your domain DNS Zone record. The utility can handle creation of multiple
&lt;br&gt;key pairs with separate names, and provides the PHPMailer code to include
&lt;br&gt;with your script.
&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;A quick note on digital signing. PHPMailer already includes support for
&lt;br&gt;digital email signing using CA certificates. CA certificates are available
&lt;br&gt;from a wide variety of sources. CA certificates usually involve an
&lt;br&gt;up-front cost, plus annual &amp;quot;renewal&amp;quot; fees. DomainKeys Identified Mail is a
&lt;br&gt;self-signed methodology that you create yourself and no renewal fees (they

	<content type="html">Been using phpmailer for a while on a local machine, and everything works ok.
&lt;br&gt;Now I need to run my code on a virtual server but simply cannot get secure emails to send, eg anything on port 465 / 587.
&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;My basic set up:
&lt;br&gt;Wampserver 2.0i
&lt;br&gt;(mysql 5.1.36, apache 2.211, php 5.30 and the latest phpmailer)
&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Has anyone had any trouble like this? thanks
