PSPP Reference Manual Error MessageHello,
I just installed PSPP (PSPP_0.7.9_2012-05-15_32bits) on a Windows Vista computer. Started the application, went to Help - Reference Manual. Got the following error message: error: Cannot open reference manual: Failed to execute helper program (Invalid argument). The PSPP user manual is also available... Is there something I can do to correct this problem? Thank you, John _______________________________________________ Pspp-users mailing list Pspp-users@... https://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/pspp-users |

The short answer is: so long as you use Windows, No. However it should work fine under a free system, with the Gnome desktop environment installed. Debian and Ubuntu work fine for example. The windows installer does provide the manual as a separate .pdf file too, so you can use that (or refer to the online version of course). The longer answer is: yout would need to devise a Texinfo to .CHM filter to convert the manual to a format that Windows would accept. I have no idea how hard this would be. Perhaps the Windows packager should remove this menu item. _______________________________________________ Pspp-users mailing list Pspp-users@... https://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/pspp-users |
