PSU6 Communication PhrasesHello Does
anyone know whether it is possible to download the communication pages from the
PSU6 and if so how do I go about this? I am upgrading a patient who has a
considerable amount of communication phrases and was wondering how to remove
these from the PSU6 in an effort to add them to the new equipment. Thank
you Jemma Newman Clinical Scientist

Re: PSU6 Communication PhrasesHi Jemma, It is feasible to retrieve the information but it is not
practical to do so. The data is held in a file which can be opened in notepad and
then the information can be extracted. The file needs to be taken across to a PC via a serial to serial
protocol and then the text strings extracted from out of all the other settings
and data for the PSU6. Given the amount of information involved it is quicker &
cheaper to re-input the data, as you would probably have to do this anyway on
the new device, this step is just additional time and effort. You can attach a printer and print off the communication pages
so that they can then be re-entered by someone – this is probably the
most time & cost effective method. Hope this helps, feel free to contact me if you want more
detail. Neil

Re: PSU6 Communication PhrasesIt will require a DOS program and you also need to keep the power on as the
lithium battery that stores the data may have expired. To do this will require an extender board. A bit messy plus you will have to get in touch with Possum for the program.
