I try to use Audio/Midi Setup with Windows Vista and receive this message:

External format :ASCII got error reading #<Pointer to type
(:UNSIGNED :CHAR) = #x044DFED8> at position 20: Non-ASCII code 25

Could someone give me a solution for this problem?

Unfortunately, the "bodytext" is not a rich text element so changing
the font attributes is not possible (this may change in the future).
You can however, use instructions inside the strings to denote bold,
italic etc. but these take effect only when exported, for example, to
PDF. The idea is that if we are in the future able to show these also
inside PWGL your work would not be wasted. Anyways, it doesn't do any
harm...

Well, it seems to be missing of course... DBL as a language is
something I have made so Googling does not really help. The DBL
grammar (DBL.g) we put together with Kilian and I'm attaching it here.
I did not check how accurate it is but it seems to be fairly recent.

I would advice against using the 'documentAttributes' however, since
the idea is that all PWGL documentation should have fairly uniform look.

Sdif-library install in Leopard

I am trying to install the sdif library, but after downloading the Xcode 3.14 for Leopard and following the instructions I am not able to install it... I must confess I have difficulties with the Terminal and that I am not technical at all.

First of all, do not put user libraries inside the PWGL application
folder. pwgl-library is not meant for you users and the contents will
be lost as soon as you download and install a new version of PWGL. As
a general rule do not save *anything* inside the application folder.

/Users/<yourname>/PWGL-User/User-library is for this purpose. Try this
and see if it works.

BTW, If I'm seeing correctly you have an extra space in PWGL. Why
don't you remove it anyway.

I was planning to write something like that... (until now I was

pwgl-users: Symbol inputs in PWGL

Dear all,

Does anybody know how to pass non self-evaluating symbol arguments to PWGL functions? See the attach file to show an example of the malfunctioning of some of the PWGL objects to pass symbol arguments to a CASE lisp function. As you can see, the body of the function in the LISP-CODE-BOX, expects a non self-evaluating symbol argument, that's what is supposed to be the output of the TEXT, VALUE and EVAL boxes, but once the main function is called it always evaluates to NIL. This behavior would not occur in flat LispWorks code.

Any hints to solve the problem in the PWGL environment?

Luis,

Why don't you take a look at tutorial "adjoin-voices"
if you change the ':measure' to ':part' in both 'collect-enp-objects'
boxes in (1) and ':voice' to ':score' in (3) this should do it.
If it's not necessary to do this in a patch you can always copy-paste
between scores.

is the simple-merge from the qskant library which merges two scores into
one. But how to merge two different lines into a score?

Hello,

as a answer to the 2D graphic question, is that possible to use clx
inside pwgl (actually easier for me) ?
It seems to work using sbcl on macosx using very standard X windows (so
that loads X11)...

Trouble launching PWGL in WinXP SP2

Hello.

I am having trouble while launching new PWGL version. I followed the instructions at siba-downloads webpage but It stays frozen at the beginning of the startup, exactly when it says "creating resources".

I'd like to build a method for new object in a menu for drawing simple
trees in 2D (for begining no opengl yet)...
Please, where should I find or do pwgl methods/classes to use for
representing boxes in a patch zich represent trees/graphs ; a double
click may opens a larger window - such as bpf ones -with standard
functionabilities such as zoom etc ?
May I find some lisp to hack in pwgl source code ?
(this to represent trees from matrices of distances for classification
in fv-morphologie).

Error when loading

Hi,

i'm just as new as i can be with PWGL (not with synthesis programming, but yes with PWGL) i've download it and when i run the PWGL-1-0b.exe it give me this error, always with the Starting synth... operation and the loading bar at a 75%

External format :ASCII got error writing # <Pointer to type (:UNSIGNED :CHAR) = #x00920050> at position 2:

and ask
Wolud you like to debug this in terminal?

if y say yes after the same message print in terminal says:

1 <abort> Quit Pprocess.
Type :b for backtrace, :c <option numbre> to proceed, or :? for other options

if i say no it just leaves a small frame (the TaskManager says is the program) in the middle of the screen that does nothing. If i end the PWGL-1-0b.exe process the frame leaves.

If anyone can help me i would really appreciate it.

On a related note (sorry if this is old new for you): I remember that
you had problems getting PWGL running under Linux while using
Parallels. I just saw that a known limitation of Parallels is its
missing OpenGL support for Linux...
