PWGL is not working correctly on my WinXP machine

Hello everybody,

My name is Martin von Frantzius, composer from Germany. I liked very much, what I saw and read about PWGL, so I'd like to try it on my system, but there seem to be some problems:

1.) If I want to open the Audio/Midi settings, an error is produced:

External format: ASCII got error reading #<Pointer to type (:UNSIGNED :CHAR) = #x0018C9A8> at position 16: Non-ASCII code 228. Would you like to debug...

2.)PWGL opens correctly and I can even access the Help file (only the text). But when I open a patch, containig objects, or if I put objects in a patcher, although they are shown on the screen, the program somehow freezes. It produces a high processor load. I can't move objetcs or other things or have to wait very long. It doesn't crash.

My system:

- Win XP Professional Version 2002 SP 2
- Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.4 GHz
- ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro
- I use: RME Fireface 400 as ASIO Sound Device (+ Sound Blaster Live Value for "normal" Windows Sound)
Visual C++ 2005 is already installed on my system.

It seems to have to do with Audio or my quad CPU?...Is it possible to turn audio feature off? I would use PWGL mostly for computer assisted composition and not for generating sounds.

thanks a lot for your help,
Martin
