SSH2: An SSH shell like a stream

Hi,

In the description of ssh2_shell, there's:
"Open a shell at the remote end and allocate a stream for it."

So the result of this command must be a stream. Well, it's good, I'll
use fgets, fwrite and stream_* functions ! BUT, the problem is that I
can't use a SSH2 Stream with the stream_select function...

Warning: stream_select() [function.stream-select]: cannot represent a
stream of type SSH2 Channel as a select()able descriptor in XX on line
XX

Why I cannot ? Is there a workaround ?

Btw, I added ssh2 support in 5.3+ curl (libcurl supports it now), the
windows version has it by default in the VC9 builds.

We ran into a few issues (php hanging during shutdown when using the
extension), I'll check if they're still there with this version.

I fixed config.w32 in SVN and uploaded DLLs for 5.3.x VC9-x86. They
can be fetched here:

libssh2 is compiled statically and used ssl dynamically (as long as
you have installed php correctly, they are in the PATH already).

Yes, definitely, making this wrapper in php is trivial. I made this in C because I think that handling include path this way (add, remove in particular) is what is missing in php core. See user comments in set_include_path page. I saw it also in many cases in userspace code. PECL can be good starting point for adoption this from core developers lately :). I like OOP wrappers with exception handling.

Thanks for the patch. It looks like I got pretty sloppy in the emit
section of the module with the TSRMLS markers.

Merge support is high on my TODO list. The parser implementation is
largely rsky's original code and it will need quite a bit of reworking
to make merge work correctly. LibYAML uses a SAX-like event notification
model and the current code discards too much information about mapping
keys to reliably detect if a key matching "<<" was unquoted or not

Rsky's code generically reported "parser error" on any parsing failure.
I added code to pass along the line and character locations where the
library detected an error via a warning event.

small static OO wrapper for include path

I have made small wrapper for include path manipulation.
Extension has currently these static methods:

IncPath::add($path);
IncPath::remove($path);
IncPath::setByArray(array $paths);
IncPath::getPathArray();

I'll add to set() get() as aliases (if PHP_METHOD can be alias) for set_include_path(), get_include_path().

I'm beginner in the PHP extension writing and also i C programming. I had little bit troubles with zval_dtors and other
memory management function when I was write this one, so can you make some revisions and suggestions for improvements?
Can I use pecl repository for maintain this one?

Can you request a SVN and pecl.php.net account? Pls use the same
username and password in both.

I recommend to use php's svn to maintain it as it will let other
contributes easily, along other advantages.

Looking at how YAML is used in most PHP projects I have seen, they all require merge key support [1], which is not part of the core standard and is therefore not included in the previous YAML extension. Would be awesome to one day get support for merge key in a C extension. Also IIRC the current extension didn't really do a good job of "guessing" where a potential syntax error occurred. Would be great if your extension could solve those two points.

Simply take them from our builds: http://pecl2.php.net/, see the wiki
as well for the list of libs we have already.

No, I only tried the SVN version. It already included a working (or mostly
working) config.w32.

As to your question in your other e-mail:

Compile libssh2 and zlib as static libraries instead of dynamic libraries
(DLLs). Then recompile the extension. You may have to change some
preprocessor definitions (e.g. in config.w32). For instance, ZLIB_DLL
should not be defined in these circumstances. You can probably figure out
what to do by looking at the headers of zlib and libssh2.

If you still can't do it, drop a me a line.

Sounds fine to me for rsvg, for pango, I already replied and nothing
has changed since then :)

[PROPOSAL] RSVG extension

After the outstanding response I got from the Pango proposal, here's
another try :)

I'm wrapping librsvg, which is an SVG rendering library that uses Cairo
at the back end. This one again relies on PECL/Cairo, which means it can
output PNG, SVG, PostScript or PDF. Or even SVG again if you're feeling
a bit mad. Once I finish the bit of Cairo I'm working on, you'll be able
to convert a Cairo surface into a GMagick one (and later IMagick and GD,
if all goes according to plan).
