Hi All,

I had installed pidgin for instant messaging but it is not starting.
I ran the pidgin on terminal

avenger@linux-fksn:~> pidgin
libnm_glib_nm_state_cb: dbus returned an error.
  (org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown) The name
org.freedesktop.NetworkManager was not provided by any .service files
pidgin: symbol lookup error: pidgin: undefined symbol:
purple_smileys_get_all

and it gave me this error.

avenger@linux-fksn:~> rpm -qa|grep glib
glibc-locale-2.8-14.1
glibc-2.8-14.1
*NetworkManager*-glib-0.7.0.r3685-7.1
libglib-2_0-0-2.16.3-20.2
*dbus*-1-glib-0.74-88.1
taglib-1.5-33.1
libpoppler-glib3-0.8.2-1.3
glib2-2.16.3-20.2
glib2-branding-openSUSE-2.16-15.1
libavahi-glib1-0.6.22-68.1
avenger@linux-fksn:~>

I checked the glib and found packages with same name as in the error.
But i don't know what to do next! can anybody help me?

thanks,

SMS

Here are the steps.

1. login as root
   $ su -

2. switch to level 3
   # init 3

3. run ldconfig as root
   # ldconfig

4. exit as root and login as normal user

5. start KDe
   $ startx

Hope this helps.

thanks
Saifi.
