Pizz. and arco on same stave

I am writing a piece where the strings have pizzicato and arco sections.
To get these to play correctly with the likes of Fluidsynth, I need to
change the programme (patch) between "Pizzicato Strings" and "String
Ensemble 1". Is there any way to do this? I only seem to be able to set
the programme once for a channel, so my string parts have to use two
channel (and staves), one for pizz. and one for arco.
