Please, release!

Hi all,
this is not the first time I ask for an official new stable release of
the project: a lot of work have been done, many bugs were fixed but
the project looks on a stale status from outside as the last release
was april 2005, more than three years ago!

Please, build up a release for the public, this will demonstrate the
project is not dead and may be it will attract more contributions,
surely it will grab the public attention and allows dependent projects
to be up-to-date without having to use the nightly builds.

Please....

I wish to renew my request... Please release. Deliver a release and we
can handle any further request/feature/bug with a patch release... many
modules has been updated but are not visible to the public.

If I can help in anyway let me know

Still no answer to my request. I have actually performed a release on
my own repository, but my build process now is no more publicly
buildable unless I deliver my own xdoclet libraries.

Can I ask what's the problem in performing a release?
