I am currently porting the 8 GPE applications that have been ported to Maemo
(gpe-calendar, gpe-contacts, gpe-todo, gpe-timesheet, gpe-filemanager,
starling, gpesummary and gpesyncd) to Maemo Fremantle (mostly done but some
bugs still to fix) but I have no current plans to port to Mer.
If someone wants to have a go I would encourage it (and would be happy to
answer any questions based on my experience of maintaining the Maemo ports if
that helps).
