Hi, all!
I recorded a strange owl vocalization just as we were wrapping up our Big
Sit at Bentsen State Park (TX) around 10:00 this past Sunday (11 OCT); I had no
clue what it was, but did comment to some of my birder friends here that it
kinda reminded me of some Spotted Owl vocalizations I had heard. Another
knowledgeable birder linked me to a Mottled Owl recording from Xeno-Canto, which
was spookily similar! Eric Carpenter very kindly posted the recording on
his own website, and here's the link:
I'm already being encouraged by a couple of people to send in
documentation, but I'd like a little more feedback before getting too
excited! Thanks!
