Possible delivery timeframe of Thorn?

Others are wondering. Someone on the linux-audio-users discussion list
mentioned Rosegarden as one of the big audio apps (in conjunction with
the change from KDE3 to KDE4) and wanted to know when Thorn might be
released ...

Michael knows the exact date, but version number will be 10.02. Thats February.
BTW Thorn doesn't use KDE at all it's pure qt4 app.

When it's ready, or on February 14, 2010, whichever comes first.

Things are just about to get in gear on the release front, starting with an
alpha "real soon now."  Before the end of the month, I hope.  Perhaps in as
little as a week.

Say you have a poem and I have a tune.
Exchange them and we can both have a poem, a tune, and a song.

cant wait! FWIW I think rosegarden is a really good program for all kinds of music production. As for using Ardour cos its more hardcore (or what ever software is supposed to be better than RG), musicians dont necessarily work that way, too much faffing about with technology can spoil the creative flow. Its  much better to work with something you are familiar with.

Personally I like the way rosegarden works and dont spend much time looking at other recording programs.

btw I hope to be able to contribute to the RG project myself some day (need to get to grips with C++, make and all that good stuff).

Regards,
Gary

OK, Lorenzo, it will happen shortly after I repair the broken release tool.
That is what I must accomplish next, and then the rest will follow from there.

Don't forget to include the Easter egg with pictures and voice
recordings (this is an audio app!) of the developers. We like nice
surprises in our apps!

Yeah -- when it crashes while you're recording a vital and
unrepeatable take of your melancholy love song, we should pop up a
window with videos of us all capering about to bouzouki music in our
underpants.

Even though I'd be willing to wear particular beautiful underpants ?
Actually I would prefer a bast fibern short gown,
while trying to swing some of those hula hoops,
such as this girl: http://www.geekologie.com/2007/05/31/100-hula-hoops.jpg
Ok. Forget it. That would break all of my single bones.

I said "nice surprises". Of course, the videos mentioned above would be
pretty sure to get Rosegarden a *lot* of invaluable public attention. ;-)

Maybe a video of a serene rose garden with a nice bouzouki music
soundtrack ...
