Poster Firefox Plugin...JPL

My trip to EclipseCon has already been worth it (from a learning
perspective).  I was introduced to Poster, a Firefox plugin, yesterday
by a couple of guys from JPL.  JPL's project is discussed here: http://www.eclipse.org/community/casestudies/NASAfinal.pdf
  - however there is really no mention of their ReST
architecture...and the use of Equinox within.

It is fairly interesting to note that their tutorial session left a
lot of people in the dust - because it was fairly difficult to
follow.  The whole tutorial ran for about an hour and a half - and
could've easily been condensed to 20 minutes with Rails.  There is no
doubt that Eclipse is a great IDE and can be an all-in-one tool.  But,
for people who don't use it every day it is just a mess.  JPL is using
Restlet(s) inside their applications to talk between nodes.  I didn't
get a chance to discuss the performance of their architecture...but,
will try and track 'em down on that.

Here's the URL to Poster:  https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2691

I'm jealous...

Poster is a nice tool - we used it on DEAMC to help debug squid/cache
issues.

Restlets happens to be a personal favorite of mine.  I've used it both
on DEAMC and ARCES projects.  I think it's a great java framework for
building back-end services.  I'm looking forward to learning ruby/rails
so that I can have an informed opinion about alternatives.

Of course it shouldn't replace unit/integration tests.
