Postgres 8.2 installation problem

Hi all!

Im trying to install postgres 8.2 in a windows 2003 server enviroment, and confronting a problem:
near the end of the installation, when the message "Initializing database cluster (this may take a minute or two)...", then it never finishes.  What could be wrong?  this is (I think) the final installation step.

I'm not sure this is the best group to be asking this question since its
for PostGIS specifically.

Anyrate - are you installing it remotely via Terminal services or remote
desktop.  I recall having similar issues way back and to get around it,
you need to install in console mode - basically start your remote
connection something like

mstsc.exe /console

Agreed. You should be asking the PostgreSQL people on the pgsql-general
mailing list on postgresql.org for help with this one.
