Hello!

Standard beamer title page code works via beamercolorbox which doesn't
support real transparency.

If you badly need real transparency for the title page, you can go
ahead and redefine title page template using \setbeamertemplate{title
page} or \defbeamertemplate{title page}. There you may use tikz/pgf
for transparency effects.

opaqueness and beamercolorbox

Hi,

I want to use on one frame (currently the title slide) a background
image and thus a beamercolorbox with a half-transparent
background-color.

Something like this:

\setbeamertemplate{background}
{\includegraphics[width=\paperwidth,height=\paperheight,keepratio=true]
{bg.jpg}}

\begin{frame}
\setbeamercolor{author}{bg=gray,opaque!10}
% -> 10 % opaqueness or 90 % transparency of beamercolorbox where
% the author string is put into

\titlepage
\end{frame}

\setbeamertemplate{background}[default]

Is this somehow possible?

Found via google until now just some tikz related comments about
transparent images.

The migration is really safe.
If for some reason you need to keep jrxml level compatibility for some
reports, you can still use the compatibility option from
Tools->Options->iReport->General->Compatibility

There is band called "lastPageFooter" you can use this band to display
data only in the last page of the report.

recurrent slide

I am using a recurrent slide that is not an outline/TOC. I want that slide to come back in the beginning of particular sections, but want a different part of the text in this slide highlighted every time. I am having hard time making this happen.

For example, I want the logic to be if section xxx is reached go back to the recurrent slide and highlight text yyy. But xxx and yyy change every time the slide 'recurs'.

Can any one help me in this regard?

Tabular p{} not working

Hola,

I am using table environment with the parbox command forcing a linebreak at a custom column width, however, it does not work. The text somehow breaks, but is not wrapped to defined column width. Might there be some "interference" with preamble definitions?

submit form data when the form close(Very Urgent)

Hello

I am showing PDF form in window browser, and to submit form data on form close I added a javascript on Document close event of pdfwriter as below.
stamp.Writer.SetAdditionalAction(PdfWriter.DOCUMENT_CLOSE, PdfAction.JavaScript("this.submitForm({cURL:'" + GetAbsolutePath() + "TestSubmitedData.aspx'});\r", stamp.Writer));

it's working fine with IE8 and adobe reader 8.0, but not working in Adobe reader 9.0 and above version
Does anyone have any advice to submit form data when the form is close. Is this possible? How?

Two JRDataSources in single report?

We usually use JavaBeans as JRDatasource for our reports, but now we have a special requirement where we also need to execute a query to a database using data from the JRDatasource as the SQL's WHERE clause, is it possible to accomplish that using for example a javax.sql.Connection object as a JRParameter and keeping all the other data the regular way we are to used to (i.e JavaBeans in the JRDataSource object)? If so, please provide any hints on achieving such goal.

[mig-announce] Mig 1.5.1 released

Hello Users,

with PHP 5.3 being out a few months and my provider rolling it out soon, I
noticed that Mig 1.5.1 was not compatible with the new production settings.
The reason is that "short_open_tag" now defaults to "Off" in the production
configuration [1]. If you are allowed to change your PHP configuration, you
may change this to avoid to problem. But as this may not always be possible
the new version of Mig fixes the issue.

Even if your are not switching to PHP 5.3 soon, please keep this in mind or it
may strike you when you switch in the far future.
If you don't want to upgrade to Mig 1.5.1 for any reason I attached patches
against the last two versions of Mig that only fix the short_open_tag-issue.
I am sorry for any awkwardness this may cause to you!

Additionally there are some minor bug-fixes in this release that piled up (see
changelog below).
I also gave the icons an overhaul, they are now modern PNG files from the
Tango Project (see changelog for details and how to turn them off).

Organisational:
Switched Source Code Management from CVS to Mercurial. The history of
the default branch was imported The CVS is still available and I intent
to integrate the release-patches for users that update their version
from CVS. But *live*-changes will only happen in Mercurial. Mercurial is
very easy with simple workflows, just give it a try. (Boris)

PdfWriter.GetInstance(document, new FileStream("testname.pdf", FileMode.Create));

In C# how can I create a savedialogbox (event button click) to choose the name and the location of the new file? And after create the document how can I open it? (using adobe acrobat or similar).

Dear everybody,

I have some question about export in excel.

As we all know, excel has its limitation in displyting data, about
60000 lines, however, result of my query has more than 200000 lines,
I want to know how to display so many lines in an excel file, or in
other word, how to change pages whent the excel has fufilled its lines
or reaches a certain line limit, does jasperreport has support some
method for the problem ???

Ah - it may be your use of $P!{}.

It's my understanding that by using $P!{} you're overriding normal
parameter replacement behavior and forcing iReport/jasperreport to
insert the parameter as a raw string value into the SQL without being
able to parameterize the query to leave data conversions to the driver.
In such cases I believe it's best to ensure that the parameter being
used is a string formatted exactly as you wish for the SQL, and also to
include any necessary quoting, either as part of the parameter or in the
query.

Is there a specific reason that you need to use $P!{} at this point in
your query? It seems like a normal $P{} would be fine, and in that case
the date should transit across the JDBC connection just fine. That
should also have the advantage of being database server agnostic as the
date isn't being converted into a string by your code, but inside the
driver.

If you have to stick with $P!{}, I'm guessing your current parameter
definition is causing the query to likely be built using the result of
.toString() on your parameter, which given what I think is the default
representation for a java.util.Date probably means that internally you
end up with a query like:

and submitted_date >= Sat Jan 01 00:00:00 XXX 2050

(where XXX is the local timezone of the machine the report is run on)

In order to use $P!{}, I'd suggest:

* Make your parameter a type of java.Util.String and then construct the
value so it is exactly the string representation you want of the date.
So perhaps something like:

String.format("%tY-%<tm-%<td", new Date("01/01/2050"))

* Include any necessary quoting in your SQL, which I think would be:
and submitted_date >= '$P!{PARAM_TO_DATE}'

The combination of these two should, I believe, result in a SQL command
sent to the server of:

and submitted_date >= '2005-01-01'

If Oracle doesn't like that format by default, just adjust the format

Beyond that, if you still have problems, I would try to obtain a trace
of the actual SQL that is making it to your server. I'm not familiar
with Oracle but presume there is statement logging of some sort that can
be enabled. Alternatively, I think you can use the JDBC driver manager
to add local logging to your JDBC connection.

i.e Oracle, MYSQL, DB2

I have tried using a value that is a java.util.date in my SQL query.
Here is the relevant bit of my SL query :

AND submitted_date >= $P!{PARAM_TO_DATE}

parameter PARAM_TO_DATE is defined as a java.util.Date with the default
Value Expression set to
new java.util.Date("01/01/2050")

But when the the Report query reads the SQL is gives the error

How to create a PdfPTable with dotted/dashed line borders?

Hi all,

I am new to iText. I am using iText-2.1.4.jar & iText-rtf-2.1.4.jar files for working with iText. In my pdf file, I have 2 PdfPTables. I need to add dotted/dashed lines after few cells within the PdfPTable(s).

So, please, can anyone help me regarding this problem. I was struck up here since a day ago. I spent nearly 4 hours of my time, but, no solution was/is found.

I request you all to please spend 2 minutes of your valuable time in filling the gap within my work.

Can someone please tell how to get information about the private key ? I can't get it well and i have the same problem...

I've solved my problem! I was getting the signing certificate without any information about the private key so I couldn't get the example provided by Paulo working.

Migrating to 3.6.1 from 3.1.4

Can anybody give advice on problems with backwards compatibility using 3.6.1 from 3.1.4 (or any other version 3 compatibility issues)?

I need to support the multiple bands feature added in 3.5.2 for some new reports but do not want to break any other reports. I am happy to use 3.5.2 if there are problems with 3.6.1.

Hi harish i am also new to this jasper reports.You can use jasper ireports tools to create JRXML files where u can drag n drop fields,variables, static text fields and many more on to ur report and u can directly preview ur reports by clicking on preview button.

Table issue

Hi Paulo,

I have to display some 50 tables on pdf (with itextsharp)
for that i am using for loop.

but sometimes while displaying table . header comes on first page and remaining part comes on next page
