Printer problem

Hi Folks,

My Epson R220 is spewing out ink at a great rate and leaving a layer of ink on the print that just won't dry in days, it's that thick.  I'm using genuine Epson cartridges and paper.  I'd put it through a cleaning cycle, but I'm afraid it might pour more ink into the machine than I care to clean up.

Any thoughts as to my problem?  I tried searching for troubleshooting info but nothing comes up about too much ink, just when there's not enough :-(

Or, is this a sign from Epson Heaven that I'm about ready for that R1400?

Regards,

Greg

There's probably a Yahoo "printer" group that knows exactly  what the
problem is.

Thanks KK,

I've looked everywhere I can think of but haven't had any luck on the Internet.

I did however have a look at the back of one of the overly-wet prints and couldn't find the Epson logo, but it was smooth and glossy back there :-) :-)  I printed the next couple of images on the glossy side (with the logo on the back) and everything seems to be normal again. Duh.

I think there is a term for this in the computer support world: PEBKAS

Problem Exists Between Keyboard And Seat

Can you post an image of your red face?

All kidding aside, we've all been there!  Glad it turned out to be a simple
fix.

Thanks KK,

I've looked everywhere I can think of but haven't had any luck on the
Internet.

I did however have a look at the back of one of the overly-wet prints and
couldn't find the Epson logo, but it was smooth and glossy back there :-)

the back) and everything seems to be normal again. Duh.

Bill, you are quite right.  Adding further to my embarrassment is the fact that this happened more than once :-( :-(

Greg
