Printing From GIMP

Hi all,
I'm using a windows based computer & I have difficulty printing things
out in my Epson 4800 printer from GIMP  (can't adjust for large paper
size, GIMPS print menu wants to change the resolution). I'm using (and
recommending) XnView as a workaround. Is there a better solution?
Thanks,
Frederick

There is a better solution.  Delete print.exe and replace it with winprint.exe from 2.2.17.

Would you simply rename the file to "print.exe" so GIMP could see it?

Renaming is not neccessary.  GIMP will load it if it is \lib\gimp\2.0\plug-ins.

By replacing do I cut& paste somthing.
Please explain to me like I'm a simpleton
Thanks,

The print plug-ins are both found in \lib\gimp\2.0\plug-ins.  It is the same location for GIMP 2.2.17.  If you don't already have GIMP 2.2.17, download it from Sourceforge.net.  Be sure to change install directory from the default location to GIMP-2.2 or it will overwrite your 2.4 files.  Once downloaded, navigate to the directory mentioned above and copy and paste in the same location in the GIMP-2.0 directory tree.
