Troopmaster sells the cards that works with their specific software
package.  I have been attempting to see if I can get the reports to
print on regular blue cards myself, but so far I have not had much luck.

The scout shop now carries the merit badge cards that feed directly
into the printer.  How can I print these directly from Troopmaster?
Currently, I print the labels, but I'd like to skip that step and just
feed the merit badge sheets to the printer.

The sheets are coded 33414.

Any ideas?

I believe they do not work.  TM prints out the whole card.  I think you need a special template to print on them.

Yes, that is what I mean.  How do you get the template to print on the
cards from the scout store?

Ken,

Yeah, I tried.  My laser printer don't like the instructions.

The sheets are coded 33414.

These sheets are the presentation cards for the merit badges, not
"Blue" cards

TM does sell their own version of presentation cards for printing. Not
sure if you can use the BSA version directly with TM.

Some of the merit badge blue cards are fillable PDF's.  If they are
fillable, you can attach them to a spreadsheet that will fill out and
print as they go.  That is what I am attempting to do with Troopmaster.

Back in 2005/6 when we requested Sam of TM to be able print the blue cards
instead of just labels we used blank blue card stock from O**ICE M*X/D*P*T
for testing. I don't have the code to hand at the moment. Have you tried
that ?

To be clear. . . .  Troopmaster does have an option to print award
cards.  This is not what I'm asking.  (However, I've tried that and
ordered their 'Award' card.  All it is is plain, perforated card stock
with no graphics.  I was very disappointed.)

What I'm trying to print is the Merit Badge cards that you can
purchase in perforated sheets from the scout store.  Currently, TM
allows you to print the labels.  I'd like to print directly onto the
sheets.

Any additional thoughts?

Sandra,

I understand perfectly which card stock you're referring to. It has
somewhat of an Olive Green background field with areas to
type/write/print the data.

However, unless TM comes up with a template to put into the software
to work with all of the stock for MB presentation cards, Rank
Advancment presentation, and MB Blue Card stock that the National
Supply Division offers, or you can figure out how to align those
using the directions I don't know what else to suggest.

The TM software workds with their blank stock. It will print out MB
presentation cards, which you can alter and add images of each MB to.
Yes, I understand it uses a lot of ink as well because of the blank
stock. But, Until TM supplies pre-printed card stock. Those are our
only options at this point until they do that and update the software
to accomodate all card stocks.

You would need to go back into the archives and do a search on "Blue Cards".

When I started my own Troop I was a one man band for a while and I had a PDF
template file once that I had TM print the labels over.

I'm in a large Troop now and we have an Advancement chair that does all that
by hand. Pete T140

For what it is worth, We have a form that allows a scout to fill in
the information on a PDF copy of the Merit Badge Card.  It
automatically completes the same fields on that card.  If printed on
Blue Card Stock they are just like the real thing.

Er....that's what I use Troopmaster for.  Cool PDF template, though.

Anyway, am I missing something?  I thought the original question was if
Troopmaster can be used to print merit badge award cards on BSA's 8-up card
stock, or failing that, if someone can point to a Word template that could
be used to print on BSA's 8-up card stock.

Personally, I use TM's award card stock and blue card stock.  I still have
the original jpegs that came with TM 2005 to use with TM 2008 on the awards
cards, and they look pretty sharp.

Err, maybe I am just cheap and lazy.  I took the actual badges and
scanned my own jpegs for our cub scouts, and use those to print the
awards cards.  currently I print the cards on heavy cardstock and run
them through a paper cutter to cut to size.  I am still "collecting" all
the images for the Webelos pins, but will get there someday.

Personally, I use TM's award card stock and blue card stock. I still
    have
the original jpegs that came with TM 2005 to use with TM 2008 on the
    awards
cards, and they look pretty sharp.

With all the recent talk about the Award Cards that can be printed
using TroopMaster, I decided to share the JPEGs that we use on our
award cards. Go to the following page on the troop's website:

www.troop370.us/tmtug.htm

I hope that this helps those who need the graphics.
