Problem building Sakai

Hello Sakai Development Group!



We use Sakai 2.3 on Windows version but we decided to install new Sakai
2.4 on the Red Hat Enterprise 5 Linux machine, and I am struggling with
building Sakai on it right now. Hope you'll help me.

I run build from sakai-src directory using command line 'maven sakai'
and this is what I get at the end:

File...... /root/.maven/cache/sakai-2.2/plugin.jelly

Line...... 34

Column.... 6

Unable to obtain goal [sakai:sakai.build] --
/root/.maven/cache/maven-java-plugin-1.5/plugin.jelly:63:48: <ant:javac>
Error starting modern compiler

Total time: 15 minutes 46 seconds

Finished at: Thu Aug 23 09:13:52 PDT 2007

When I run 'maven -X sakai' I don't get any significant information (at
least I don't see it); but if I run 'maven -X' it gives at the end
'BUILD SUCCESSFUL' note.

I would really appreciate your advice on troubleshooting this problem.

Are you using JDK 1.4 or 1.5 to build Sakai? I believe you need 1.5.
