Dear all,

I’m trying to install this software with no success, earlier I had a previous version, version 5.  In the middle of the installation process I receive a message window (translated from Portuguese):

The installer is already in execution

It seems that another instance of the installer is already being executed.

It is not recommended that you run several instances of the installer at the same time.

Do you still want to run another instance of the installer?

<Yes> <No>

How to solve this?

Thank you,

Hi Andre!

The easiest way how to solve this problem is not to use an installer but
platform independent zip - I personally preffer this solution. You just
unzip the netbeans folder to some destination. It is 99% equivalent to
installation (installer just creates a shortcuts in your menus and on
the desktop, also an uninstaller reference... it does not do anything
special for you...). You can download platform independent zip from the
download page - just use the combobox in upper right corner.

You can also safely run the installer if you know that another installer
instance is not running (=click "YES" in the dialog). The problem can be
probably solved by removing some file in your userdir (~/.netbeans or
C:/Documents and Settings/<user>/.netbeans), but when no other NB
installers are running, it can be just ignored...

Hi André,

Please remove %USERPROFILE%/.nbi/.nbilock file and run again or just
click "Yes" in the dialog and continue.

See also the last note in the Installer section at

Thanks,
Dmitry
